A wonderful 12 inch Steiff with FF button in great condition and such a fab face ! He is here at long last and apologies to all those Butternut fans awaiting his grand arrival! He really has made you wait! Butternut is a delightful 12 inch steiff with FF underscored button firmly in ear. He has a charming expression and is in overall very nice condition with 90% plus mohair, main area of wear is a spot on his right outer thigh as shown, All other parts are well covered
with some thinning to facial seams and a small thin patch to behind left eye ( between eye and ear). What a great squished up nose! Obviously someone has "huggled" him from one side, leaning his nose very jauntily to the right. A bit squished, but in a good way! He is a wonderful Nutty antique gold with a hint of Apricot, a really hard colour to describe but beautiful to behold. He has repairs to his pads but all original facial features with boot button eyes and remains of nose and mouth stitching. I would leave him as is, any added stitches just may
change his expression, but that is of course a personal thing. He is excelsior filled and has a non working squeaker. Butternut Squish is a very clean and strong bear with nice supple mohair still and good strong fabric. He has the IT factor for me, a personality with his little far back set ears and quirky face, Totally adorable and a great bear to add to any collection of Antique or Vintage bears. Perhaps Butternut can slip under the tree this Christmas! |
